How to Build an Outbound Sales-Lead-Qualification AI Agent

Today, we're going to build an agent that can call leads and schedule them for a car test drive. The agent pulls leads from a spreadsheet, walks them through a set of questions defined in a Google Form and writes their responses back to a Google Sheet in your Google Drive.
In about 15 minutes you'll have an AI voice agent from the agent showcase that calls a lead list, asks the questions in your Google Form, finds the nearest dealer by ZIP code, writes every response to a Google Sheet, and books the next call or test-drive 24/7.
What You'll Need
- A Syllable account (free trial works great)
- A Google Drive account (Forms + Sheets)
- A CSV of phone numbers to call (template provided)
- 10-15 minutes
Step 1: Prepare Your Google Drive Assets
Log into your Google Drive. Set up a folder structure with the parent Syllable Demo Folder with Forms and Sheets folders inside. Create a Google Form with the questions you want your agent to ask. Save the Folder ID and Form ID.
Step 2: Draft Your Prompt and Greeting
Log into the Syllable Console and create your agent's prompt and greeting message. Include tools for append_data_with_session, create_sheet_from_form, search_dealership, and hang_up.
Step 3: Add a Data Source
Go to Data Sources and create a new datasource with your dealership information.
Step 4: Build the Agent
Navigate to Agents, create a new agent, select your prompt and greeting message, and configure the tools.
Step 5: Create a Google Service Account
Set up credentials to write to your Google Sheets. Enable the Google IAM API, Forms, Sheets, and Google Drive APIs.
Step 6: Load Up the Keys
Add your service account credentials to the agent's session configuration.
Step 7: Test
Start a new session and answer the questions. Check Google Drive for the new spreadsheet with responses.
Step 8: Spin Up a Voice Channel
Create a new voice channel and connect it to your agent.
Step 9: Launch an Outbound Campaign
Create a new campaign, set the rate, upload your lead CSV, and watch the dials light up.
Step 10: Monitor Sessions
Every call shows up in Sessions with AI summary, full transcript, tool calls, and latency metrics.
